What is the Council for Public-Private Partnership in Food Technology?

The Council for Public-Private Partnership in Food Technology was launched in October 2020 through collaboration between industry, academia and the government, with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) serving as the secretariat, in order to promote the resolution of issues in collaborative fields and the development of new markets for foodtech and other emerging technologies that will contribute to the development of the food and agriculture industries and the strengthening of food security. Members include food companies, start-up companies, research institutions, government agencies, and individuals who support the Council’s objectives.

The Council for Public-Private Partnership in Food Technology
is involved in the following activities

  • Sharing information with members on trends and events related to foodtech in Japan and abroad, holding seminars, etc.
  • Publishing information from members at the general meeting and proposal/report meetings held about three times a year
  • Establishment and participation in working groups and community circles for specialized discussions
  • Promotion of business collaboration through matching and communication among members
